The game is set in C12th Scotland, and it is currently Autumn 1131. The players are based at Clach na Tiompan covenant near Loch Earn [nearest city is Stirling]. The covenant was founded in Winter 1127 by Lycus and Domnhull. It is now a thriving community in its own right. The covenant currently has a magic aura of 2 (it recently rose from 1). The aura was originally an extension of the +3 magic aura from the stone at the top of the hill after which the covenant is named. It has good relations in particular with Bradan Glas covenant, where Domnhull was trained by Mairi an Broc [now deceased], and also with Clan MacGruagach. Domnhull is courting Muireall of Clan MacGruagach. Relations are somewhat strained with Crun Clach covenant over the matter of the former Seinnadair nam Goath covenant.

Caitlin ex Merinita is the presiding Praeco. Thesian ex Guernicus is the presiding Quasitor, with Simprin ex Guernicus as his assistant. The tribunal's redcap is Ferrando. He replaced Duncan Douglas, a good friend of the covenant, who has recently retired to Harco to write his memoirs. Argyle ex Tytalus [of Pralix' line] of Grian Dearge covenant is the current leader of the Northern Guard.

Our up-and-comings made a move at the start of Summer 1131 on the abandoned Seinnadair nam Goath covenant. The new Redcap for the tribunal brought the news that the covenant had been vacated. The magi of Clach na Tiompan are now in competition with the magi of Crun Clach covenant for the ex-covenant's resources and both are trying to claim them for their own. The Quasitor has been brought in to assess their respective cases. Aled Ap Thomas, a fellow Hermetic Magus from North Wales, met up with them while they were on their travels near Seinnadair nam Goath. He has since joined the covenant.
