I have been a fan of STYX since 1981, and since then my feel for this band has grown stronger and stronger. It was the album Paradise Theatre that I fell upon in a friends car one day and after listening to a couple of tracks and with a lot of persuasion I managed to borrow it. A couple of weeks later was my birthday and my friend Mark Johnson brought me the album Pieces Of Eight and that was it, ever since then I have been trying to lay my hands on everything that has been released with great problems due to imports in this country. The next thing that happened was while looking around for STYX records I fell onto an album form JOURNEY called Escape and "wow" the story goes on, so please click the link at the bottom of this page for more information on JOURNEY.

This page I am dedicating to John Panozzo who unfortunately died of a gastrointestinal haemorrhage in 1996. He was too sick to tour with the band and passed away during the middle of the tour, and he will be missed by all. The Album Paradise Theatre was released in January 1981 and it actually tells a story from beginning to end, which I keep meaning to try and put story to paper as a rock opera.

Last year Styx released what I must say their best album yet, Return To Paradise. This album was recorded live at the Rosemont Horizon Rosemont, iL. on the Autumnal Equinox 1996. As you may of guessed Paradise Theatre was about the closure of this theatre and this album Return To Paradise is quite the opposite with original tracks sung live plus lots of others and this is something I think John Panazzo would be very proud of.

Some of the songs STYX has produced over the years are very emotional and I must admit even get to me but there is one song that is on Return To Paradise which is Show Me The Way and Dear John, the last of course which is about the feelings of the band towards the late John Panozzo. As I said before the problem with my country is importing material so hence the problems collecting STYX albums even CDs which I am now trying to collect all. It even goes as far as I went into a music shop about a year ago and in the list of music we found a Bass Tab book of STYX so being a Bass player I ordered it to be told weeks later that his supplier had said not for import into the UK. One day perhaps I will get over to the States and fill my all time ambition and see STYX perform live.

Well some good news for me, I would just like to say a very big thank you to Harry Smith from Cornwall who went over to Chicago for a short break and came back with the Return To Paradise video for me.
