Timing:            We anticipate that the work will take about 8 months and during this time the use of the church will be restricted.

Preliminaries: A scaffold and polythene screen will be constructed across the church from floor to ceiling separating the building area from the front of the nave.

Parking:           A road closure order is in place for the roadway around the church, giving space for a contractor’s compound and restricting parking during the week. A copy of the map showing the restrictions will be posted in the porch. We will be able to use all available space on Sundays.

Access:            We will continue to use the south porch and a passage will be constructed giving access through the screen.

Sundays:           We will use a reduced area of the nave for worship and arrangements are being made for Junior Church to meet off site.

Weekdays:       There will be no access to the church from Monday to Friday. Activities, which usually take place in the church, will be relocated.

Baptisms:         These will take place as usual on Sunday mornings using a mobile font.

Weddings:        Alternative arrangements with neighbouring churches will be made for weddings, which are affected by the work.

Funerals:          These will be relocated to neighbouring churches according to the wishes of the families involved.
