New starts are exciting- but they can be a bit daunting too. Perhaps you have recently faced such a challenge. New job? New school? New home? New town? New responsibilities? So often we find ourselves faced with something new- and find that the challenges pose new questions... or perhaps you feel nothing ever changes...you're stuck in the same old rut and just wish things might be a little different. At the heart of the Christian faith is the possibility of a new start. A new start that means responding unconditional love of God. Yes, unconditional, for God loves us just as we are- warts and all! Knowing that allows for the possibility of change. The bible is full of stories of how people's lives were changed when they realised they were accepted and loved by God. Zachaeus, an unpopular tax collector, was challenged by Jesus; discovered a new way of living and changed. He even paid back all those he had swindled. Last year, we ran Alpha courses at St. Peter & St. Paul's. It meant a new start for many who came along, as they began to explore and understand the FACTS about the Christian life - rather than what they assumed. Why not think about coming to the next one? |
