Music at St. Peter & St. Paul, Buckingham

It is both rewarding and hugely encouraging to reflect upon everyone's considerable contribution to worship over the past year. The repertoire has been enormously rich and varied, with works drawn from every period and texts selected to fit in with the service theme, wherever possible.  The musical forces involved have also been wide ranging and it’s amazing what the musicians achieve. It is a wonderful thing to share the gifts God has given us helping to lead worship.

However, let us never take all of this for granted – we need to do everything we can, collectively through prayer, and as individuals, to encourage musicians of all ages.

This year we have introduced new singers and instrumentalists: part of our mission is to provide quality-singing and instrumental opportunities for young people, to help them develop musically, to involve them in an informed and active way, therefore recognising their spiritual, musical, social, and cultural needs.  So as we continue to lead worship and make music together we must help young people develop to develop their talent. This particularly means finding and sharing new music that our choirs and music groups can sing together or complement each other.

We have a dedicated, musically able and highly diverse pool of musicians - will you join us?
