Building For The Future....

Few organisations would try to exist, let alone serve the community, from a building, no matter how impressive, which has no meeting room, no office, no inside toilet and no kitchen!

We seek to serve God in our community in ways that aren't possible with our existing facilities.

The Open Door Project has the potential for meeting needs in the community and for providing a way into the church building, a way into support and fellowship, and a way into faith for those who are searching.

We remain firmly committed to the development of our community involvement and the appointment of a project worker but this cannot happen without the improved facilities so the building work is our first priority.

The Open Door Project will provide meeting facilities for the many church and community events that take place within the Parish Church. The planned improvements are for the benefit of everyone who visits the church and also will open up new opportunities for serving the local community.

Many organisations already use the church for special events and concerts and comment on how wonderful the building is- but how inadequate the facilities are.

The Parish Church has been at the centre of the town for centuries and the present building is one of the most notable in Buckingham. Over the years the needs of each generation have changed and so the inside of the church has been adapted to a greater or lesser extent.

The present congregation recognises changing needs and has a vision for the church which will make it better suited for the 21st Century while maintaining its historic and architectural character.

Plans have been approved to re-order the inside of the gallery end, providing an office, a kitchen, an inside toilet and two meeting rooms on an enlarged gallery.
