Beachampton

Beachampton is a rural parish consisting of a small village surrounded by farms.  It is just outside the boundaries of Milton Keynes and 8 miles from Buckingham.  There are 64 dwellings and 126 people on the civil Electoral Roll.  There is a pub, a village hall and the church.

The village shares a priest with Radclive-cum-Chackmore, Thornborough, Thornton with Nash and Whaddon.

There are two regular services a month and some ‘specials’:

(1)   Holy Communion on the 2nd Sunday (Common Worship) at 9.30am.
(About twice a year there is a Book of Common Prayer Communion.)

(2)   All Age Worship on the 4th Sunday at 11am.

The Church, dedicated to The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, dates from the 14th century and is in good order.  It has a peal of five bells but no regular band.  The churchyard is still in use.

The church is heavily reliant on the priest for spiritual and pastoral needs and lay leaders who are able to assist with services.  Each year there is, on average, one wedding and two baptisms.

There are 18 people on the Church Electoral Roll, of whom three are non-resident, and a PCC with eight members.  The parish has no village groups and is dependant on those organised in other parishes: Thornborough, Whaddon and Nash.  However, this involves travelling which is always a tough hurdle to overcome.
