Angola - John Middleton has spent some time analysing the photographs supplied by Andy Chalmers of the dump at Catete which contains 10 Garratts and other locos

Angola - Catete count seems to be certain 22 locomotives

Two pictures "hot off the press" of the new Garratt at the end of the world under test earlier this month. Loco will be painted blue and named in due course

A kind soul has pointed out that another Garratt is being built for the FCAF in Argentina. This story goes back at least as far as 1998 but I'd missed it. I've seen pictures but owing to contractural agreements the builders name has not been released. Completion date unknown at present.

A few location changes for South African survivors


Another 3.5" gauge miniature Garratt from South Africa, this time a GF


3.5" gauge, "EAR style", freelance 2-8-0+0-8-2 in New Zealand



On 17/09/2005, Central of Aragon 101,(Euskalduna 191/1931), later RENFE 0462F0401, was removed from the Vilanova I la Geltru Railway Museum near Barcelona. It has been transferred to the ARMF workshops at Lleida for restoration to working order. The picture above shows it alongside 282F-0421 at Lleida on 17/09/2005 (Picture Oscar Urgelés via Manuel Ramos)
