Links........From time to time we all come across some good stuff on the WWW.Here's some links that you might find interesting....... General LinksAlta Vista seems like a pretty reliable and fast search engine. To catch up on newsgroup articles you might have missed, try Deja News. GuitarDue to the Harry Fox Agency taking legal action against the OLGA (Online Guitar Archive), the American OLGA sites seem to be closed. However, there's an OLGA mirror that seems to work here. For general stuff about guitar, Harmony Central is very good and has a good software download page. Guitar Notes is an excellent site with a lot of links to some really good tuition pages. For tab, a good resource is the Ultimate Band List. If you can't find tab at OLGA then try the UBL! Frank ZappaThere's so many great sites about Frank out there that it's really difficult to pick out a few. Vladimir's Arf Frank Zappa Scholars' Web Page is truly excellent, as is St Alphonso's Pancake Homepage. Try Geir Corneliussen's "Frank Zappa Memorial Barbecue" page for some neat stuff and whilst you're at there, check out the full scoop on Appliantology. You'll find profiles of the people on the Frank Zappa newsgroup on Darkhop's web page and some other good stuff as well. Danny GattonThe official Danny Gatton site has some soundclips of this truly gifted guitarist and some very good pictures. Also, don't forget to check out: alt.fan.danny.gatton Ninja on alt.fan.frank-zappa set it up for me and it'd be great to get more people on there. Danny was so good........ The ByrdsYou'll find the Byrds FAQ here and some other interesting stuff as well. Why not visit the Byrds newsgroup? Other LinksA good friend of mine - Brad Bradstock - has an excellent site here. "Rink Works" is an amazing site. It includes the very entertaining "Dialectizer" CGI script which enables you to input text - even a whole web site - and convert it to a variety of dialects, including Redneck, Jive, Swedish Chef and Elmer Fudd. It had me in stitches. I think I'll input the Starr Report next....... Well worth a surf! If you like surreal, sick and bizarre humour, be sure to check out Max Cannon's site. There's a huge archive of his comic strips, some very good links and even some recipes submitted by visitors to Max's site, "redmeat.com". Truly excellent! Back to Home |
