This month's beer is "Old Devil", an aptly-named brew from the
Wychwood Brewery in the U.K.
The colour is beautiful - a sort of reddish gold,
which is produced by using amber malt. The first taste seems very sweet - this is a beer
that includes honey in its recipe - but this is followed with a satisfying bitterness and
then a dry finish. The head was rather unimpressive, with a very shallow head that soon
dissipated. However, the superb taste and the way it really teased the palate more than
compensated for this failing. Even the label is great!
All in all, a very impressive beer.
I shall be sampling this one again. I reckon it's got to score 9 out of
10!
