Thomas and Jane Flewin together with Jane's brother, Richard Caselton, and sister-in-law, Sarah, emigrated to Vancouver Island on board the sailing ship Norman Morison, leaving England from Gravesend, Kent, in the August of 1852. The full story of the five-month long emigration journey via Cape Horn is available in the Flewin Family History Centre at British Columbia: The Emigration. Here other available records of the journey can be found -- from the full text of a wonderfully descriptive poem, to the names of passengers who shared the Flewins' journeys. |
