Founded in 1985 by Chris Martin and
Martin Watson the Energy Monitoring Company (EMC) specialises in all aspects of
the monitoring and modelling of energy consumption in buildings.
Our activities fall into two broad categories:
In real buildings we can offer a range of measurement and modelling
services, including short and long term performance monitoring,
building leakage testing using fan pressurisation techniques,
measurement of ventilation rate or contaminant transfer using
tracer gas,
measurement of component or whole building heat loss,
and tariff analysis.
At our outdoor test site at Cranfield we can provide on-line
meteorological data to clients using simulation models for energy targetting.
Also located at the Cranfield site is TEST ROOM 3000,
an outdoor facility which provides a highly controlled environment for the testing of
building components.
Over the past twelve years we have carried out a wide range of work for
clients in the goverment, private and academic sectors.
