After eighteen months of Java, I am beginning to get the hang of
how it works - or, in some situations, doesn't. Java's problems are
beginning to be addressed, but, for the most part, the improvements
won't be usable until people have the updated Java virtual machines.
I refer to audio facilities, accessing resources in JAR files,
lightweight components, event handling and so on... moan over
(though I could go on at length about the failings of the Java VMs in
various browsers)...
...as I was saying, I've got a bit of experience, and from now on I
hope that some of my discoveries will be worth mentioning. The
parameter passing in Watcher's source code is almost of this
standard, but, for now, I've restricted myself to one Java tip...
