OUT AND ABOUT

VILLAMARTIN PLAZA

The Villamartin plaza is within a 10 minute walking distance of the apartment, here you will find everything you need from bars to shops to restaurants.  The Plaza offers over twenty international bars and restaurants many of them providing entertainment throughout the evening and range from simple pub grub to five star cuisine, a bank, a medical centre, shops, a supermarket that stocks a large range of everyday goods, and also a well stocked golf shop (TAX FREE!!).

If you can't find what you are looking for in the supermarket then the larger Consum supermarket at La Zenia is only 5 minutes drive away where you will find everything you need.

There's plenty of entertainment for children too including face painters and comic strip artists as well as 'Bowlingo' which has a 10 pin bowling, pool tables, etc. (summer opening times  apply).

TORREVIEJA

The town of Torrevieja is situated by the sea, with a large marina and extensive promenade.
The region is rated as one of the healthiest places in the world to live partly because of the salt lakes (see below) but also because it boasts 300 days of sunshine per year and less than 30 days of rain.

The town itself is typically Spanish and has an abundance of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, expect to find lots of quaint back streets with independently owned shops selling a wide range of goods and don't forget to barter with them to get the best prices !

Torrevieja Attractions ...

The Ozone Leisure Complex popular for both children and adults, is a complex with Restaurants and Bars. It has an IMF Cinema, KFC, Bowling Alley & Amusement arcade. During the summer months there are also outside trampolines and bouncy castles for the children.

Torrevieja Park of Nations (known as 'the dragon park'), is a popular family attraction. The park has a large playground park for the children with a life size dragon slide, a train ride and a beautiful lake with swan pedalloes

The Salt Lakes cover 50 percent of Torrevieja town which consists of two enormous Salt Lakes of Torrevieja and La Mata, which gives it its microclimate. Bathing in the salt lakes is known to be effective against asthma, rheumatism, dermatological, heart diseases, skin disorders and other health problems, which is why many North-European sufferers have tried the area and moved in for good. With an average annual temperature of over 20 degrees centigrade and 340 days sunshine a year, this makes the area a very healthy climate, recommended by international doctors. The salt lakes are now also a thriving bird reserve and Natural Park.

Water Parks are great when you need a break from the beach.  The children (even the grown up ones) will enjoy a great day out.
The Parks are located at Quesada and Torrevieja and are just 15 minutes drive away, and the Giant Terra Mitica Adventure Park at Benidorm is just 1 hours drive.
