I am a multimedia designer. Trained as a graphic designer, I have been involved with new media for the last seventeen years or so. From working with computers that could show only four colours at a time through to todays webbed up world, I've been involved.

As well as the media content, I also implement the design solution in many cases, and program in HTML, JavaScript, Macromedia Director, Asymetrix Toolbook etc. I do this because I have often found that the implementation can require design decisions to be made as the project progresses. It also helps if, as a graphic designer, I can talk to dedicated programmers with an informed view of the production process.

My long experience in new media also allows me to look at a project in a consultancy capacity if required, highlighting possible problems and offering solutions. Documentation is something designers often fight shy of - I positively encourage my clients to accept that I should provide such documentation. This enables other designers to pick up a project at a later date if required and gives a degree of insurance should I fall under a bus!

Graphics packages I use? Adobe PhotoShop (of course), 3D Studio and Max, PaintShop Pro, Corel Draw, various animation programs and many others for specific purposes such as image mapping and compression.

I have worked on projects of all sizes - from those in which I have been designer, programmer, project leader and account manager to those in which I have been just one member of a large team in multi million pound projects. I am happy leading teams of designers and I am happy working on my own. I can work at your premises or at my own workstation. I think that the prime assets of a multimedia designer in todays world are fexibility and experience. That is what I offer, along with a truly professional design service.
